Resilient Families

About Erin Mazzoni

Data Privacy & Preparedness Consultant · Franklin, Tennessee

My "why" started at TransUnion. I sat with story after story of people whose identities had been stolen — good people with no idea where to turn. Watching what identity theft does to a family taught me the lesson that drives everything I do now: the best time to fight this is before it happens.

So today, my work is protection. For the past five years I've helped families lock things down ahead of the crisis: removing personal information from the 600+ data-broker and people-search sites selling it, freezing credit at all three bureaus, running privacy checkups, and scam-proofing the phones, computers, and habits scammers count on.

That work is why I built the Resilient Families Toolkit — a step-by-step guide families work through right on their phone to lock down their money, privacy, and identity in the AI era. I kept the cost minimal on purpose, because protection shouldn't be something only some families can afford.

Privacy is only half of preparedness. Through three years with the Prepping in Franklin community, I help families get genuinely ready for the unexpected — long-term food and water storage, backup power, medical and first-aid readiness, and home and family security. I'm also a handgun safety instructor, teaching adults and safety-first basics for children.

Before all this, I built a career helping people — as a sales leader in banking and financial education, and as owner of a million-dollar retail store with a 50-person team. Different chapters, same thread: I show up for people.
